in Kefalonia, looking around, while waiting for my next arriving group to the peaceful island, I see handsome, suntanned elegant men, dressed mostly in white colours with the sunglasses on their smiling faces.


They all reflect peace and a good spirit, which "dresses" the atmosphere of the waiting hall at the airport every day.




No stress can be felt at this place, where are more arrivals almost every single day.


Instead of that, wherever I look I see the smiling faces walking and talking in a slow speed.


It affect you too, who is part of the waiting here.


What a lovely way with loving, harmonious people around, who slowly but surely begin a new day.


I wish, anywhere you are, slow down, relax and have peace in your heart....

In the deepness of my heart, I feel the freedom of love, while walking in the streets of Kefalonia, in the towns with the harbors by my side.

Slow speed, smiling faces, calm behavior is that characterizes this part of Ellada - the Ionian Sea part.
The passion and the hot temperament of the Southern islands I miss here so much, I often wonder, what is this game now that God has set into my life?!))



Me, with my hot temper, loud voice and even louder laughter has to really slow down that much?, and become calm and calmer for the rest of my summer months?

How am I going to survive it all, once I am a busy busy social kind?

There will be though time for learning the greek language finally, to go running to the beautiful red beach, to dance zumba and to do yoga, however, it must be a joke again, for me to become calmer?!

As walking on the streets I see the lemon and the orange trees, looking at the Venetian styled houses, I remember the time, when as a teenager I dreamt about such life.



- to live by the Sea, surrounded by the relaxed faces and the blue colour of the Sea.

- to have a glass of wine after dinner or to have a break during the day with a cold frappe in my hands.

Many years have passed since then and today, walking in this atmosphere, I feel, I have arrived "there".

Even my surname, ending at -atos is said to have the origin exactly from this island.
Funny, the place, after which Ulysses, from the myth of Homeros was longing so much to come back and to settle down there.

....the reflection of my destiny in a way)).
Why? I ask "him" - the man, who was on the roads for years waiting to arrive home one day.
Still, there are many places for me to be discovered.

One thing is for sure though, the green valley we are placed here with the scents of the different flowers, bring lot of peace and harmony for those, who arrives to this place.

Me, personally, love the fact of the relaxed faces of the men, who, with their cute babies carried on their hands looks so happy, smiling to the whole World, satisfied and proud to be their DAD.

..and instead of the rush of the everydays, instead of sitting in the traffic jam or waiting for the metro in the crowded place, I walk slowly to the ferry, which takes me from the capital of Argostoli to the other side of the island- to Lixouri- which is my calm settling for this summer...
and while the wind is blowing my hair into my face: I am satisfied, grateful and curious at the same time, to see, what needs to be explored here, on this island.

..Long time not seeing you here all, my loved readers.
I am back to tha land, I love so much, the land of Gods, so close to my heart, tha nation, so close to Gods, the people with a loving smile on their faces and open arms to the visitors of their wonderful God given land.


I have the blessing from God to stay in the greenest island of the Ionian Sea in Greece, or Ellada as the nation call his country.


KEFALONIA, the green island with pine trees mixed with olives and cyprus, reminds me a bit the atmosphere a bit of my homeland.


You may ask why? the reason is simple: hills, mountains from the North of this Ionian island are "taking you" down to the South with the feeling of being in a nice natural documentary movie, where deep down under you is the azure blue Ionian Sea welcoming you here.


The scent of jasmine can be felt in the air and you become soon after your arrival speechless.
Myself, sitting in the taxi, while Dimitris, the driver with the sweet greek accent is describing me the authenticity of the island, I can hardly take a breath.


The island of contrast with its size has impressed me.


The peace is in the air and you can not use the word stress, whats more, it is actually forbidden, as such factor in fact is unknown here.
I am close to Ithaca- the land of Ulysses, Odysseus, and I can not wait to get there soon and to see it on my own eyes, what and why him, this brave, smart hero loved so much.


Back to the taxi though, we travel for about 25 min and suddenly, we see the beach of Myrtos, situated under the cliffs.



Spectacular view: the feeling of strenght and protection by the huge mountains is around you, wherever you look to.


Xalara- TAKE IT EASY, THEY SAY IT HERE: it is the island of harmony and the beautiful, diverse nature.


Forget about the parties here, rather take a long long walk or enjoy the water sports, ride the horses in Sami or explore the caves.


Simply, become part of it all and have peace in your heart.


KEFALONIA- I look forward to know and to explore you, the island of contrast is a big adventure in my present life.
